Hall, Leach Split the Win at FLW League on Erie

Dawn arrived with much of uncertainty in the air for the boaters and co-anglers fishing the FLW Walleye League event on the world renowned Lake Erie.

Seas were forecast at 1-3, with winds to 20mph by late afternoon. It didn't look promising with a severe cold front pushing through and already muddied waters.

Known for its monster walleyes, the western basin of Lake Erie is one of the most sought out spring walleye fisheries in North America. Instead of opting to go big and chase what Erie is known for, the majority of anglers left West Harbor Launch in hopes of just any limit of walleyes, making this tournament anyone's for the taking.

That's exactly what boaters Dave Hall of Chesterland, Ohio and David Leach of Linwood, Michigan did. These two split top honors, each weighing a total of 16 pounds and 4 ounces, and both taking home a check for $3,727.50.

Boater David Kolb and co-angler Robert North closely behind the leaders in third with 16lbs 2oz. Kolb also took home $1000 in Toyota Rewards as the highest placing Toyota Tundra Owner.

Nathan Seiferlein and Ryan Lescoe took home fourth place with a total of 16lbs and 1oz. Fifth place went to Dennis Lantzy and Terry Krampe with a five fish limit of 15lbs and 13oz.

The majority of anglers spent at least some part of their day jigging many of Erie's rock piles.
