New Angler Owned Walleye Tournament Company Announced

Walleye First
Published April 29, 2008

White Bear Lake, Minnesota - April 29, 2004 - The Interim Board of Directors is pleased to announce the formation of Anglers Insight Marketing, LLC (AIM).

In early January 2008, a dedicated group of walleye tournament anglers met in Bloomington, Minnesota to discuss the future of professional walleye tournaments. During those discussions several items were addressed, including the current status of the tournament world, the fishing industry, and the changing business environment in which walleye tournaments exist today. At the conclusion of that meeting those in attendance agreed to appoint an exploratory committee to investigate the feasibility of establishing a company with the mission of creating a business owned by investor anglers. This business's initial focus would be to operate walleye tournaments with the goal of improving and growing the sport of walleye tournament fishing. With the formation of Anglers Insight Marketing, LLC (AIM) this concept has become a reality.

AIM represents a true change in the tournament-fishing world. Numerous top professional walleye anglers with vast experience and successes in the existing walleye circuits have invested in this company. AIM will create a platform for those top competitors to fish head to head in a tournament format that will test their skills at the highest level. This tournament platform, owned primarily by these same professionals will ultimately be structured to bring new opportunities to the sport of competitive walleye fishing at all levels, from small tours to the big dance! AIM will work hand in hand with their sponsors to grow interest in the sport of walleye fishing with the use of an exciting new format designed to bring a new level of interest and participation to the sport of walleye fishing. Most tournament organizations have had, at their core, reasons for existence that do not directly match up with the goals and aspirations of tournament participants. AIM was founded on the belief that the time has come for the creation of a tournament-focused business that works for all parties involved in our sport.

Anglers Insight Marketing's vision is to become the industry leader in competitive angling through the insight and knowledge of its owners who are predominantly participants in the sport.

AIM's vision for leadership:

•Fairness in competition.
•Increased purses and exposure for participants.
•Cost-effective media coverage for promotional partners (sponsors).
•Bringing excitement back into the sport of walleye tournaments with opportunities at all levels of competition.
•Changing walleye tournaments into a true sport, not a sport influenced by outside business models.

These will be exciting times in the walleye world, and we look forward to bringing you updates on AIM as the company grows!

I had hear a lot of rumbings about this from some pretty big names this winter. If everything goes as planned, we could have a true best circuit that has been lacking for years.

Good luck, and count me in.
