Location: Berlin | I have never witnessed a guy win a three day event on the first day. Those are the days we all dream about. I would love to hear the recap after this event is over. Congrats man, that is just unreal!.

Location: Badgerland | We all know what it's like to pound them one day, and have them humble us the next. No matter if it's a weekend trip to the camp or a multi day tournament, these days can remind you that it's called fishing and not catching. |

| Last update was Lampman had three in the box, Skarlis had none - should be intersting, that is for sure |

| Why does Keith K have a GPS tracker, he is in seventh. I thought it was the top five? |

| Rich, Rich, Rich. I think even you have told me in the past. "You can't win it on day one, but you sure can lose it on day one"
This might be a close one. Good for the sport, anyways. |

Location: Berlin | Not sure what to say other then "hang in there Tommy". Wow. You are right Shep, Rob and I say that every morning on the first day of a two day event. After seeing this it is more true then ever. |

| This is the beauty of the AIM format guys. It's a three day event with huge comebacks possible. I've never fished tournaments this exciting, and in fact, normal slot or no cull tournaments compared to this are just plain boring now when compared. I think that you could ask anyone who's fished this format and they'd pretty much all agree. Tommy's weight was phenomenal, Robert's everyday weight was just jaw dropping over the three days in a bite that was somewhat tough! My hat is off to both and Mr. Miller also! |

| Congrats to both Rob Lampman and Harry Miller. This was a classic case of one pattern fading and another pattern building - unfortunately for me - it was my pattern that diminished and Rob and Harry's that took off - as well as two seasoned river veterans that just plan flat out fished me and the rest of the field! I also failed to adapt to the changing conditions - mostly due to my lack of experience under these conditions. That's one of the main reasons I have been fishing the WAT (Walleye Anglers Trail) and Full Throttle Events the last couple of years - to "re-learn" the "Big River" and put a few more tools in the tool box!
Ironically - I feel really fired up right now after blowing such a huge opportunity - I'm going back to the "lab" again and get mad scientist on tackle crafting with both pouring jigs and hand tying some stuff as well as hitting the river around home here - preparing for the next time I have to face these river vets - as well as the other touring pros (both seasoned and up-and-coming) in the next river tournament! I cant wait!

| I fished the AIM tourney here in Dubuque as a CO last week and talked to Tommy and Gary a lot about the AIM (by the way tommy I am glad you are not making a living singing Happy Birthday and I am really glad you didn't pop out of a cake). I wasnt sure what to expect but man it was very cool and works out so well with the slot and resrictions in Iowa. Without CRR the weights in that tourney would have been a fraction of what they were. I am now a big fan of CRR and recomend trying it. Also I can only speek for Dubuque's crowd because I have never been to a different location but the casino was standing room only, great to see. I hope AIM is back next year already started saving my pennies so I can throw my hat in the pro side.

| i watched the final weigh in of aim tournament and you are this classiest person that i have watched at a weigh in, not saying the other pros do not have class,
you handled the out come in such a way that the crowd was focused on the first and second place finishers not on your finish. i have never met you but it would be pleasure too. |

| Wow, what a finish. I'm really liking this AIM CRR format. I hate slot tourneys, and this really gets around that. I don't need to see fish on stage, especially dead fish. Could you see this format on Leech? or Mille Lacs? Or some of the other slot lakes with big fish?
I gotta say that while I feel for Tommy, it is awesome that he's posting here, along with several other pro's, sharing his reflections on this tourney, and how he's going to try and avoid what happened here.
Great job AIM and WF on the coverage. |

| You are right Shep, What is there not to like about the AIM format. It truley tells, who the best fisherman is fot that tourney, not, should I keep this one or not? This format would work anywhere, and the beauty of it, no fish mortality, great for the fisheries, great for the locals that fish these lakes. I personally do not need to see live fish to enjoy the tournament. Seeing pictures of the fish on big screen TV's knowing that they are going back in the water, not a days ride in a livewell. I think all the larger tournament series, that have the technology, should at least give it a try, you will see how easy it is. What do you have to lose?
To the rest of the pros, especially you Tommy, for people like us that follow the tournament series and fish in our own series, make it so exciting to be involved in and promoting the sport of fishing. Win, lose or draw, you are always a class act. |

| No doubt it has to play his mind after last years championship finish BUT, what other position would you rather be situated? I would take the lead anytime, they can't take the weight away once it is in the book and weather conditions can play in your favor by shutting down the bite or even cancellations. Tommy has been in this rodeo many times.
take care, |

Location: Berlin | Don't forget about this AIM event also Jim. It is definitely on his mind but he seems like the kind of guy to learn from his mistakes rather then whine about it or call it bad luck. He had all winter to think on those two events and that is why I have total faith he will come out the victor here. Fish are fish and anything can happen but my money is on Tommy.
If he does not win I will man up and wear a pink thong during my next tournament (MWS on the 29th). There will be pics to prove it. Some things cannot be unseen. People are counting on you Tommy |

| Rich - your words motivated me! LOL - JK - I didn't read this until now!
Truth is - It almost slipped away from me, Thank God I kept it together!
In all three instances, I experienced diminishing patterns and increased pressure from other anglers. Fortunately I was blessed with just enough fish to pull out the victory on this one!
I also "re-discovered" an old lesson/secret learned years ago concerning competitive fishing - that - like Rich's pink thong, I hope to keep untold/unseen for as long as possible!
Warmest Regards to you all! |

| Tommy
thanks for winning. I think I would have some serious issues (possible stress disorders) if Rich would wear a thong in the boat. All he would have to do is bned over and grab a leach or crawler and I think I would have permanent mental scars. Crack kills.
Also: Rich for men THONG is WRONG. |
