Good Friday Everybody
Here is a run down of the river and what is being said by the fisherman and bait shops.

CHICOS, Orihula, Wi,

Today is the third day we have been launching boats, said Gary the owner. There have been many fish caught but they are in the deep holes. The water level is at or below summer time levels. There is no need for the fish to be shallow. There are some dandy males being caught and many of the females have been released. You can get to the mouth of the river. Temps yesterday were 35.6 Surface

FREMONT Bait and Tackle, Fremont, Wi,

Chris reported that guys have been launching for 3 days in Fremont and there success is sporadic. The river is free of shoreline Ice but flows continue to come down the river. The guys I talked to reported the fish were in the deeper holes.

RED BANKS RESORT, Fremont, Wi,

Bob has had many launches today and the guys are spread out up and down from his place. Just like down river, the fish are using the deepest water to navigate up river. The current flow is low and they do not need to be in the shallows. Had limits come in on Thursday and knows of some very nice females that were released. Ice is down to flows. But every time someone pushes a channel out up river some ice comes down. All shoreline ice is gone.

GILLS Landing, Weyauwega, Wi,

At 11 am there was a lot of ice flows coming through the bridge. It was unfishable and I seen no one in the water. There is a small jam above the bridge, and I suspect it will be coming for a few more days. All reports from the last few days seems slow.

Come on out and be very careful. There are fish to be caught. Visit one of our chamber members while in town. We appreciate your business.

Have a great weekend!!
