| Which is a better boat? A Lund 2010 ss explorer or a tuffy 2060? What are the differences in the boats both pos. and negs. Thanks Steve | |||

I have a 2060 and absolutely love it. It's the dryest boat I've ever been in. It's also fast. I'm partial to Tuffy because I've been an owner for over 15 years. I started out with an MWC Limited 160. There are other posts like this one. Do some research on the boards and your answers may already be here. Either way, have fun boat hunting.

| I live in Texas and there are no Tuffy boat to look at around here. So I have no way to find out the difference. That is why I am asking because you guys up north have probably been in both boats and have things you like and dislike about both. I like the fact that Tuffy is fiberglass. I am worried about the alum. hull. Alot of stumps in Texas. | |||

Member Posts: 1336 | I had a Lund Mr Pike 17 before my 1890 Osprey, to bad you cant find a reason to get to the north country to check out a Tuffy, I have been in a 2025 Pro V and I would say my 19' Tuffy was smoother and dryer, I have had mine for 3 years now and have no issues what so ever with the integrity of the hull. I have never been in a 2060, but they say it is one the smoothest and driest hulls out there, and fast.

Member Posts: 296 | Hey texas Steve welcome aboard... I fish bass events mostly(only show in town here in NY) I went from a stratos 200XL missle to a tuffy 1760GC (single console) with a 150... pretty awesome fishing boat... I got the optional rear deck which is removable... this makes your seating options real nice. this boat goes as shallow as any bassboat I've had... It is a G series which gives it room like a 19-20 ft bassboat... I bought the boat sight unseen with alot of research and help from guys here... nearest tuffy dealer for me was a good 7-8 hours away.... Not really sure what kind of fishing you want to do but these tuffys can do it all... shallow for bass and panfish, deep water rough water, trolling, your covered... big long livewell will handle bass catfish stripers etc... you mention the 20 fter... if your worried about shallow stumps, take a look at the 1890 in the G series... should be a shallow running boat with LOTS of room... rated for 200 should move right along... If I ever trade up, this is what I get... if you check previous posts you'll see some pics of my G series... I looked at lunds but the price was not nice here in ny... good luck in your boat hunt...

Member Posts: 1336 | Nope, I absolutly no gelcoat cracking, everything is still tight no rattles or squeaks. Rigging a Tuffy is very easy also, they have run power leads to the front and back for accesorys

Member Posts: 10 | i have ownned 3 different tuffy boats [marauder, esox mag and 1760gt]with no boat issues what so ever.most of my fishing time is spent on the mississippi river where they do get abused, run in ice, mud, stumps and sand.with a keel guard there is no apparent damage to my 2 year old 1760g.the outboard hour meter has over 350 hours on it so it DOES get used,Never winterized.the solid ride in rough water is amazing plus it's a dream to handle.i would own a 2060 but it won't fit in my garage.if we build on to the garage i'll have a 2060 pronto!everyone who fishes out of it always comments how solid the boat feels and rides.you really need to hitch a ride in a tuffy and make up your own mind tho.good luck boat huntin'! rudy

Member Posts: 785 Location: Manitowoc, WI | As with any product, there is the human factor in building the boat. This said, it is possible there may be an issue you do not like or something cosmetic you want fixed. Fiberdome stands by their product to the very end as far as craftsmanship goes. If there is something you think is amiss, they will gladly take care of it for you. Steve and his crew are proud of their product and very well should be. I would recommend buying a Tuffy not only for a great product but for excellent service and warranty work if needed which is seldom.

Member Posts: 296 | Texas Steve... A few Tuffy 20 fters in the classified above... boats look great... that tiller 2060 looks like a great fishing machine... mucho room in that baby! looks all set up for trolling for stripers... tiller might not be on the top of your list but if it wasn't for tourneys, I'd have one... think about it... All them seats are removable giving you alot of options on how you set your boat up... Tuffy wiring is all set up... I rigged my boat completely in one weekend with alot of beer... Giant lighted livewell will handle any texas fish... good dry storage... my trailer is top shelf... my 1760 rides great... I've blasted through stuff with it that a bassboat woulda killed me... I look out the window every morning and see that tuffy there... best boat I ever had... if your looking at a 20 fter... big expense... might want to look for a cheap flight for a few days to check one out... would really be worth the few hundred dollars to see one in person... check for air deals... just a thought... little planning you could check out a lund too... I'm fishing in a tourney sunday with my 1760... I'll take some pics and get them on here... alot of tuffy features carry through on the models... just think 4 feet longer... and wider... you pull up to a ramp in texas with a Tuffy and guys will be all over you with questions... not to bash lunds... they have a following strong here in the northeast... Don't know if they are in texas...

| There are a few Lunds in Texas. I was looking at the Lund first but I like Fiberglass for a hull better than metal. | |||
