I have a Jiffy 10 inch model 30 limited edition and when I start to drill holes it kicks into high gear and dies out every time. This has been going on for years and I am pretty fed up with it. Anyone have any clues as to where I can bring it or what can be done to cure this? Feel free to respond here or at [email protected] Thanks in advance!!!

You most likely have a sticky Idler arm or weak/stretched idler spring, and not being warmed up enough initially at the start, it stalls out under high excelleration. Never power wash any Jiffy and leave it out in freezing temps. And never leave gas in it over the storage period. And this is not saying you did. Just some pointers to be aware and to look for.

Tews in Oshkosh used to fix Jiffy drills. Not sure if they still do.

They still do. There is a place in Fremont I heard advertising too. Not sure of the name.

There is a small thottle needle that needs to be replaced. You can get one at any hardware store. It is about $3.

I have had a similar problem for the last 4yrs with a 30 model. I have to keep priming it every few seconds and it runs great. If you don't continually prime it will die. Which high speed needle, I assume the high speed carb not sure which one it is on the model if have its only 5 yrs old or so.

Usually my seafoam takes cares of issues like this.
