Was on 8 Sunday. Pretty slow. I think trolling sand flats will be the best bet.

Yes I second that (trolling sand) and a few wingdams at the top end of the pool have been producing some nice fish.

Pull three-ways and rapalas or floaters/crawlers 15 to 23 ft of water within four miles up to dam. 11 fish this morning from 17'' to 23''. they appear to be males. early morning bite. We also jigged blades with a few fish coming to our boat.

Went up to the spillway with my kids yesterday and caught several 15 to 18'' walleyes. We fished crawlers and leeches on live bait rigs and also caught a few jigging blade baits.

I'll be at the Genoa Dam (Pool 9) over the weekend. The river is said to have come up a couple feet and should be crested by this weekend. The water is probably chocolate milk right now, but I assume it will be settled in a couple days and with the warmer temps this week and over the last weekend, I expect the bite should be right on with our planning. I'll post a report after the weekend, but I'm guessing there will be some giant perch right along with a mess of walleye and sauger to be caught.

Normally any time between April 1st - 10th is timed just right for our annual pilgrimage to the Genoa barge. We leave our boats at home for traditions sake and this time I regretted that decision. Not a single walleye or sauger was caught off the barge by anyone the entire day on Saturday. In fact, my group was the only stringer with fish on it and they were jumbo 13 and 14 inch perch. A few white suckers, a couple 25"-30" pike and that was it. The action was coming from the boats on the east side of the river in the shipping channel anywhere from 35'-50' of water off the bottom as the water temps were still under 40 in the shallows... 38 degrees to be exact. Not much for a report, it was just bad. Rudy's was fun, though!

Fishing has been okay most days on pool 9 in the usual places ... don't know about 8... Now with the clear night full moons, mornings may be tough. Early to late afternoon, ( approximately 12 hours after they ate under the clear sky full moon), should still be okay. Not many big fish... I will be fishing Bass this weekend but it will be interesting to see how many nice fish are weighed for Stoddard Bergen
