Location: Rhinelander | The rain held off long enough to get everyone underway, but will be present in the form of occasional showers and storms the rest of the day. Winds will be NW from 9 to 17 and temps near 70 degrees. All in all, the bite should be good. The search for a couple 'overs' and good slot fish continues. It's pretty much anyone's game if a couple 26" plus 'eyes show up. Stier has a good lead when considering the average weight yesterday, but may need to have a comparable day to win. The weigh in starts at 3 PM down town at the end of Main Street in Mobridge. Location: Rhinelander | A weather beaten field weighed in during a rain shower that cleared just before and Dan Stier weighed in. Local Guide Wade While weighed in early as he had been in most of the afternoon with his limit, and led the field convincingly with a total weight of 26.30. It was up to day 1 leader Dan Stier as the last Pro to weigh in. When the scales registered his fish, he was 3.57 pounds short, taking second place. The leaderboard had 4 South Dakota Pros in the first four spots. In third is veteran pro Rick Olson with 22.23, fourth was Lund pro Chad Schilling with 21.84, and rounding out the top 5 was Jeff Mistelski from Bismark, ND. The wind and pouring rain was the largest challenge today, but not because the bite shut off. Boat control and travel was tough. Many pros reported having water over the floor of the boat several times during the day.
