Looking for help. I have Scotty rod holders mounted to stainless rail. While trolling the rod holder slips meaning the holder spins or moves from the pull or weight of planner board. I have rail wrapped with electrical tape but holder still slips. What does everyone else do to prevent this problem? It's more of an issue while using 6 inch extension vs no extension.

It sounds like your rod holders are all the way compressed but not grabbing the rails. I have used a 1/16" or so thick strip of rubber cut to fit when I had that issue, and slipping stopped.

What Steve said. Try a heavy duty inner tube for a truck. Cut to fit.

One thing you can do is take them off and sand the flat sides until they are tight or you can use the old style cloth electric tape that will not slip
