Subject: 2016 Cabela's Masters Walleye Circuit Championship, Day 1

Location: Rhinelander

Forty eight qualifying teams headed out onto Green bay this morning to kick off day one of the Cabela's Masters Walleye Circuit Championship event. The bite has been extremely tough the last week. After talking with some of the anglers this morning some of the teams haven't even caught a walleye in the last few days. The weather for this morning looks good with little to no wind to be expected in the forecast for the rest of day, but tomorrow could be a different story with winds expected to be 15 to 20 mph and chances of rain through out the day. The weigh ins will be held at the
Green Bay Metro Park 102 Bay Beach Road Green Bay, WI 54302 weigh ins will begin at 4 pm and take off times will take place at 8am each day.

With a little warmer temps than normal, day 1 of the MWC Championship turned into a challenging ordeal for many teams. Randall Gaines and Mike Rhoades are sitting atop the leader board with a nice 5 fish limit at 27 lbs 11 oz. Anglers were very tight lipped on how they were fishing, which is understandable. With big winds forcasted for tomorrow, many teams that were running a long way will probably have to change their game plans. Stay tuned for continued coverage here at walleyefirst.
