Wilkens and Wilkens Jig Way to Victory in WWA Combined Big Stone Event
Ortonville, MN - Dusty Wilkens and Wes Wilkens won the first of two back-to-back one-day World Walleye Association Team Challenge events held on Big Stone Lake on the South Dakota-Minnesota border May 1 2004. This event was a combined event with both the South Dakota and Minnesota Team Challenge teams competing at the same location.

Dusty and Wes Wilkens were pitching jigs to shallow rocks on the Minnesota side of the lake to catch their winning weight of 11.03 pounds.

Dusty and Wes said they had twelve weigh fish during the day but went to the far North end of the lake to do a little trolling and caught the second biggest fish of the day to help their total weight. The Wilkens fish the South Dakota Team Challenge.

John Swanston and Shawn Proudlock placed second with a weight of 9.24-pounds. They were fishing the far North end of the lake and also caught the big fish of the day weighing 4.30-pounds. Swanston and Proudlock fish the South Dakota Team Challenge Division.

Jim Hartman and Brandon Fink placed third with a weight of 9.05-pounds. Hartman and Fink were jigging rocks near where the winners were. Hartman and Fink are also from the South Dakota Team Challenge Division.

WWA S.D. Team Challenge Heading to Big Stone for Back to Back One Day Events
Fond Du Lac, WI - The World Walleye Association South Dakota Team Challenge will be heading to Sprawling Big Stone Lake May 1st and 2nd 2004 for the second and third stops of the season in the South Dakota division.

"We had a very close contest at our first stop of the season at Cedar Shores Resort on Lake Francis Case." Said Steve Poll, Executive Director of the WWA and South Dakota Tournament Director. "Less than a half a pound separated the top three teams. This says a lot for the skills of the South Dakota Team Challenge anglers and I expect the Big Stone tournaments to be much the same."

Bob Klosterman of Madison SD and Dan Palli of Nunda SD lead the point race in the division after their win on Francis Case.

Registration will be Friday April 30th from 5:00-7:00 P.M. for both events or for the Saturday May 1st event. Registration for the Sunday May 2nd event will be Saturday May 1st from 5:00-7:00 P.M.

Registration will be limited to 100 teams and all teams must be members of the WWA.
