Antioch, IL - Brian Wilson and Joe Baron took top honors at the final World Walleye Association Illinois Chain Team Challenge event held on Sunday, August 28th on the Fox Lake Chain.
Wilson and Baron stated they were trolling crankbaits in Fox Lake to catch their winning weight of 7.45-pounds that included the big fish of the tournament weighing 6.12-pounds.
Ross Hosking and John Neubel placed second weighing four fish four 4.23-pounds. Hosking and Neubel were rigging with minnows and nightcrawlers in the upper portion of the river.
Third place was the team of James Steiskal and Bill Damron with a weight of 3.56-pounds.
"Though the results don�t show it, teams caught pretty many fish during the tournament." Stated Steve Poll, Executive Director of the WWA. "But with the slot limit in place they were not able to weigh a lot of the nice fish they caught." Illinois law places a slot restriction on the Fox Lake Chain where by anglers may only keep four fish from 14-18 inches with two over 24 inches.
