Location: Manitowoc, WI | Just curious if anybody out there traded in a motor for a newer one lately. If so, what year and make did you trade in, and what year and make did you upgraded to. I am pondering trading in or selling my 06 225 Optimax and upgrading to a 250 ProXS for next season. Any input would be appreciated. |

| Not being a wise guy here but, why would that be an upgrade? Your 06 is barely broke in. Is there a reason you need an extra 25 hp? I'm a very, very happy Opti Max owner and mine is a 1998. lol |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Again, I was just kicking the idea around. As far as the extra 25HP, let's just say I like the adrenaline that comes with speed. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Ok Guest! So I am labeled as a go fast guy! I also served 8 years in the military jumping out of airplanes. Does that label me as a crazy airborne guy also? Darn right it does. I am just trying to see if this is a legit move for me or not. I have my reasons. Thanks for your input. |

| Bob,
I personally have been trying to get my local Yamaha Dealer to let me put a 250 on my 1850 Skeeter, but he keeps whinning about safety and the fact it's only rated for a 175.
I reminded him that 20 years ago, he helped me put a 25 hp on a 12 foot Aluminum boat that was rated for a 5 hp.

Location: Manitowoc, WI | Wow Dominic! That 12 ft aluminum boat must have looked like one of todays bass boats skimming across the water with just the prop and 1 ft of boat in the water. |

| There is no repacement for displacement, hp is hp = more speed, I like your thinking.
I just hope Merc doesnt come out with a 200 OPTI XS |

| In freshwater, walleye country....generally, trading motors of this size just isn't feasible.
You would probably be better off trading your whole rig in on a new one with the 250 ProXS |

Location: Rhinelander | Give Denny at Fort Fremont a call, or try Bob at Mr. Marine. Either will be happy to quote a trade price. The tough part is de-rigging and re-rigging because of the hours required. |
