Location: Rhinelander | A cool front moved through the area dropping temps into the 50's this morning as 90 boats launched on the Mississippi River out of Sunset park in Rock Island. The temps today are forecast to hit 83, with South winds at 10 to 30. A storm should move through tonight with winds shifting to North West at 10 to 20 tomorrow with a big cool down to a high of 65 tomorrow.
Several anglers told me the bite has been very tough. The river is back to near normal levels, but the fish have been tough to find during practice. Shep said he found some fish and was hoping they stayed put.
Weigh in begins this afternoon at 3 PM. Join us on the WalleyeFIRST Interactive Leaderboard, and listen in!

| there are only 50 anglers? thought the top 35 from each state were invited to the championship.
I dont even see Lamar VanDame on the leaderboard and he is on the home page picture.
Zach mite want to check, maybe there should be a second page that is not on the live leaderboard.
Thanks for the great coverage guys!!

Location: Rhinelander | The bite was indeed very tough today, with a significant number of boats coming in with no walleyes to weigh. No one I talked to had a clue what the weather coming in tonight would do; it's supposed to storm in advance of a cold front tomorrow that will hold temps in the mid 60's. Today we had temps at 80 degrees.
The 90 boat field will launch tomorrow at 7 AM, and will weigh in at 3 PM again tomorrow afternoon. The top ten after all are weighed tomorrow will move on to the final day on Saturday.
From the Weather Channel:
Saturday:
Cooler. Sunny and windy with winds 20 to 30 MPH out of the Northwest.
