It's rough out there.

As the front moves through forecasts look like 4 to 6' and more. Some said this morning there would be small craft advisories by Noon.

Most of the Pros WalleyeFIRST spoke with this morning wanted to get out there, and were reasonably confident they could get to at least a 'B' spot despite the roouh conditions.

Sonny Reynolds, FLW Walleye Tournament Director, said he felt this was an experienced, 'best of the best' field of anglers, and urged caution in approaching Erie today. It would appear the worst it will be is about what the Pros encountered when they left. (see video soon).

The weigh in will begin about 3 Central.

I can see the lake from my hotel window, and it's white-capping pretty good. I saw several boats return from the big water and back behind the breakwater before I left. Winds are currently 14 MPH out of the West North West.

Does anyone else that fishes the great lakes know what all them humps mean when you see them out on the lake from the harbor?

Yep, more chiropractic bills.

LOL, Stacker!

I think that last picture above depicts what it looks like out there. Doesn't look that fun to be out today, however, if I were fishing for the money they are, I might have a different opinion about being out there.

Hot off the editor, I think the day 2 video tells the story pretty well.

I was on Erie in October for the GNWC championship two years ago in conditions like that. It was not fun, we only fished 1 of 3 days with some rouge 6 footers. Anything that's legitimately over 4' is very nasty.

My idea of 4' is probably a lot more reserved than others though. I've seen guys call 2' waves 5 footers. What Zach showed in that picture was ugly, that's what I call kidney killers.

I am amazed they sent them with expectations the way they are for the weather. But I am not there either.

The winds are now West N West at 15 mph. Supposed to be about the peak winds for the day.

I wouldn't want to be there without a full windshield! Nice interviews and actually being able to see a little about what it's like out there.

Steve and Zach, I would really like to see some video shot past the breakwall with the boats headed out! LOL! Great Coverage.

Yeah I keep trying to get Steve to invest in a belly boat to get those breakwall shots but for some reason he always declines.

The whole mental image of that is just wrong. Besides, hard to find a belly boat that would fit...

Wouldn't want to out there without a full windshield? Why, you like them things in your lap?

Great coverage, I think more people now have an appreciation for what NOAA forcasts are and wave forcast for what they are worth. I agree, many exaggerate the size of the waves, simply because they are looking/driveing right into them.

hehehe I had just read earlier today about someone who claimed they were driving 40 mph in 4'ers. I just giggle thinking about it.

Here's the results of a rough day on the water:
http://walleye.outdoorsfirst.com/leaderboard/llb.asp?t=657

A few of the Pros with no chance at the cut either came in early or worked behind the Breakwall for a few fish.

The weights are no longer important from today as all the anglers start at zero tomorrow. A Co Angler Champion will be crowned tomorrow, and the Top ten Pros from today will retain their weights from tomorrow to be added to Sunday's weight to crown the 2007 FLW Walleye Tour Champion.

Dave Kolb dominated the first two days.

Watch for AM interviews and images tomorrow morning early!

That's a pretty hard decision on who to pick. There is quite the company on that top ten stage. But I think I'm going to go with Scott Fairbairn, he's really due for one of these things. Seems like he's in the hunt for every tournament. But then again, so is Crow, Skarlis, Grothe and few others I'm sure

The weather changed so much it will be interesting to see if anyone's one or two spot holds as it was. Everything remaining as it was, Mr. Kolb was absolutely dominating. This will be an interesting two days.

I'll tell you what.....It was NO fun out there. I fished with Jeff Seeyka on day 2 and if it wasn't for those smooth moves seat's he's got...I'd be going to the Chiro. tomorrow! We wen't 15 miles out and it took us an hour. Some of the guy's like Jason Kerr made the long run of around 30 miles and it payed off! It does make it a little more tolerable if your fishing for thousands of $$$$,but there just did'nt seem to be to many fish behind the break wall! On day 3 some of the pro's were taking people out fishing 1.5 miles out and catching 26-30 pounds of fish. How's that for Irony???
