My son Brian served in the Navy and the Marines, getting out of the service between the two Gulf Campaigns. I can't imagine wondering every single day if he is OK, and if he'll make it home. I was lucky. Saying thank you is such a simple, yet so over looked part of our society as of late. As is opening doors and so many other things that used to be just good manners.
