| Well I will start out with a little intro....My name is Chad Lukehart, I am a 19 year active duty Navy Senior Chief stationed in Everett, Washington. I hunt and fish (mainly waterfowl) the local waters and salt in the Puget Sound for anything from Bass to Salmon, Sturgeon and Halibut/Ling Cod. I recently (last summer) bought an 2006 Alumacraft Navigator 185 Sport with a 2007 Evinrude E-tec 150 Saltwater and Johnson 9.9 4 stroke kicker.
I had the opportunity to do a little salmon trolling last year and had a little problem with some back splash on the back when in heavier weather. I would like to put splash guards on the back for the upcoming Halibut season and to further get the boat ready to hit the Columbia River for walleye in the fall of 08' and spring of 09'.
I woul;d definately like to here the do's and don'ts and recommendations for the right one for my boat from everyone heres past experience. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

| Chad, congrats on the new boat! I had that same problem 2 years ago and ordered the Wave Wackers. I was fishing Bay De Noc and was getting slammed by the waves. Called them up, they shipped it to me overnight, we put it on the next day and it sure made my life easier, my feet dryer and felt safer. Easy to install, comes with directions. Good luck, hope this helps |

| I will be deploying to the Horn of Africa and will miss this Halibut/Ling season, but plan on my dad coming up and taking my wife and kids. Is this something that he can put on by himself in a couple hours? What type measurements do I need to have ready for them? I definately need to make sure it will fit properly with my kicker on the port side also. One last question is what type price am I looking at?
Thanks for the input.....

Location: Neenah, WI | I happen to have Wave Wackers but the Whitecaps are also top notch. I think all you do is tell the maker what kind of boat you have and the motor make and size and they can make them up for you. |

| I just installed a set of Wave Wackers over the Christmas break on my 1900 Pro V. Install is a breeze, all you need is a cordless drill and about 1hr if you're taking your time. They come customized to your boat, just make sure you tell them what gear you're running - kicker, rear trolling motor, etc...
The Wave Wackers are a really nice product, I'm impressed with the fit and finish and the quality. Customer service was great too. They are little on the pricey side in my opinion though.
I don't have any experience with the WhiteCap brand.
Any way you go, splash guards definitely make for a real nice upgrade.
