| What are the chances of having the Genoa tournament because of the late winter??? Can you switch locations if the river does not open up. Just wondering. |

Location: Chicago IL. | It`s going to be close if the river opens up in time. I know that the desoto area has 15"of ice as of a couple of days ago. It sounds like to me unless something warms up fast to raise the levels on the river to break up the ice. it will be a dam only gig. |

| Just zipped the same question off to Bill a little while ago. John right now it really looks a little questionable whether the dam will open up. At least two weeks behind now. If we could get 4 days of melt in a row they might open the dam a little and then things can move very quickly but right now ????? Brian Didn't go south with me to fish Bass Tourneys so he is chomping at the bit for this one to happen so I hope things change around quickly, but right now the 10 day forecast still has 7 nights below 10degrees and only partial sun 3 days...right now the mealting from the weekend has already frozen up?? |

| We have been monitoring the river and ramp conditions very closely the past few weeks. I travelled up to Genoa this past Sunday for a first hand look. Numerous ice fishermen just below the dam. Solid ice north of Power Plant to dam. Power Plant Ramp parking lot has one lane plowed that circles the parking lot. Very little parking. Ramp has one lane plowed.
If it is necessary to postpone the tournament I will advise you in ample time to change your plans.
I have already made plans for a replacement tournament if we have to postpone.
I'll keep in touch.
THANKS---BILL |

| Bill, get your tug boat out there and bust it open.
Keep us posted.
Got the itch bad. |

| Don't want to stick my neck out here but most of the feeder creeks are wide open and I can definitely see places where they are wearing the ice depth in channel areas thinner. Haven't heard when they may send first barge north, so with 40+degrees all of a sudden forecast for weekend maybe? Also from RonKoskees south to Blackhawk out in the channel it is open. +5 degrees this morning though??? |

| lets just pray that the weather changes and we get a couple of warmer days. A few warm rains wouldnt hurt either. I hope we dont have to cancel because Genoa is an awsome tournament. From the way the news paper is talking we might have very high water to deal with in Dubuque. Cant wait to see every one in a couple weeks!! Mike |

| I kind of hope we have some debris in the water so it will slow that #1 boat down. After all its my fault that Kevin got #1.hehe Mike |

| Been busy ...0 degrees this morning . I Called Mark at Captain Hook's Bait in Genoa and he said ice hasn't moved .. forcast lows for the next 5 days 7 , 4, 1 ,13,19,
Brian and I will most likely get to most of the WATs either in a boat , as a spectator at weigh-ins, or to help release fish again. We are already commited to several Bass series with their own national championships and Brian just found out about a possible change in his work schedule..so anything else is up in the air. This Series has alway been fun and run well so I really don't want to miss them all if I can help it. I have never done very well in this series, but maybe this year when we are planning on only Guiding on the Wisconsin River our Walleye and Bass spots on the Mississippi won't be so beat up with guide trips and we can bring some nicer fish to the scale. Also after all these years of fishing Pools 8/9/10 we found some brand new spots and techniques in 2007 that we have never fished before last year so who knows. |
