GENOA, WI. TOURNAMENT
CANCELLED
Due to the prolonged winter with its thicker then usual icing, repeated snow storms and lack of sufficient thawing temperatures in Pool #9, I have found it necessary to cancel the Genoa, WI. Tournament scheduled for Mar. 16, 2008. Conditions on the river, at this time, are simply not condusive to holding the tournament
I wanted to make this announcement early enough to allow, those who are affected, sufficient time to change their plans.

| Thanks for the update Bill. Mark Clements from Clements fishing barge just e-mailed all the fishing float customers and rescheduled the FF opening that was scheduled to open the same weekend as the Genoa tourney.

| I sent Bill an e-mail and asked him if this was set in stone. I would like to see an April tournament in Genoa. I think March will be out because we have quite a few guys fishing the MWC event at Spring Valley. I dont care for 2 tourneys in 2 days as it doesnt allow enough time to pre fish for both. But I will go along with whatever Bill says. Just my thoughts.

| If it is in Sept and back to back, you could prefish for both since both pools 8 and 9 would be included in both tournaments.
I too would have rather seen it in the April or May but I know Bill proabbly did not want to conflict with the Stoddard Big Fish tourny which draws 500+ anglers a year. That tourney is on the 26th this year I believe.
Looking at the temps next week, it probably will open up by Thursday. Knowing those guys that fish down there, if it starts to break up, someone is going to get a boat up there and make sure it opens up.
Anyway, what ever it is, its fine with me. I love September on pools 8 and 9.

| When re-scheduling the tournament their were numerous factors I had to take into consideration. One of them was the Stoddard Fire Department tournament in April, my vacation the first couple of weeks in April. May was not any better with Mother's Day & Memorial Day weekend.
When obtaining tournament permits we must ensure that we abide by both Iowa & Wisconsin Tournament Rules (We will be fishing in both States waters). The Wisconsin Tournament Fishing Rules state in part:
General tournament permit conditions include:
• No person may sponsor more than one tournament on the same body of water with starting dates separated by less than two weeks.
Because of this restriction we are limited to fishing Pools 9 & 10 at the Lansing Tournament. We will fish Pools 7 & 8 at the LaCrosse Tournament.
I know this is not ideal but IT IS WHAT IT IS!
Thanks for sticking with me thru all of this.

| So you all don't think I'm being rude I had the pleasure of teaming up with Tony for a very successful year of walleye tourney fishing. If USFA Team Walleye hadn't let us all down it would have been a blast to fish the National Championship with him. |
