I've been troubleshooting a bilge pump problem on my 2003 620. Are the bilge pumps susposed to be fastened to the bottom of the boat? Or do they just stay in place by the resistance of the hoses and such?

If they are fastened, what is used to secure them to the hull? Epoxy? Silicone? I see there are holes in the pump housing for screws, but I'm guessing screws through hull in that area isn't a wise choice.

thanks

In my 621 they are zip tied to the hose that runs down the center of the bilge. They just kind of float there. They are not screwed at all. I wouldn't worry about screwing them down.

please excuse my lack of knowledge but in the Ranger catalog it says the 620 has 2 bilge pumps ( 1 auto and 1 manual). Does this mean the auto bilge will operate on its own when the boat bilge needs to be pumped?

Yes, when the water hits a certain point the pump will automatically kick on if your taking on water.
