| Can any one tell me anything about the tahatsu motors? the good and the bad. We don't have many here but i here that they are popular in some places. any info will help Thanks |

| just a couple of years ago i was invited to fish the amazan river for peacok bass. our guide was running the tahatsu motor. i swear we hit everything from the kitchen sink on our way to his hot spots. i was freakin out while he was laughing.
it was a nice quiet motor and it never gave us any problems for the two weeks i was there. |

| My 2006 9.9 Merc kicker is actually a tohatsu. I think it runs great.

| Not a pure Tohatsu, Jiim. Merc and Tohatsu entered into a joint venture to design and build small HP 4 strokes to be sold as Mercs. There are differences between the two brands as retailed.
Good motors, both of them. |

| Very good motors. Merc and Tohatsu make the prokickers together...teh specs for the unit are from merc, but the engine is a tohatsu. Powerboat magazine recently ranked the Tohatsu the best of the best for small motors. |

| I own a 2003 90hp Tohatsu TLDI and it the best investment I have ever made. I have trailered it all over the country. It gets amazing fuel economy and trolls like a charm with no fumes. It is light and quick too. Easy on the oil as well. I get funny looks from alot of people as they say that they have never heard of them. Tohatsu / Nissan is basically the same motor. I owned a 40hp Nissan for years, ran the heck out of it and now I wish I had never sold it for what I did. I have my boat and Tohatsu for sale right now, only because I need a bigger boat and a bigger engine. I wish they made a 150 TLDI - cause when they do, I will re-power and get it. Bottom line, the engine just runs and runs. Not one issue with her. Just basic maintenace. |
