| OK, I've about had it with this reel. It's a Fin-Nor Ahab and the line twist I get with it is crazy! I know the trick of trolling the line behind the boat to get the twist out, but is there any other tricks specific to this reel or not that will help? I love the reel, but when you throw away a spools worth of $14 fluoro every trip it gets pretty old. |

| THERE ARE SEVREL FACTORS TO PREVENT LINE TWIST. ARE YOU SPOOLING THE LINE YOURSELF ? IF SO YOU MAY BE SPOOLING IT IN THE WRONG DIRECTION. ARE YOU USEING A B.B. TYPE SWIVAL TO YOUR LURE ? CHECK TO MAKE SURE YOUR ANTI-TWIST ON YOUR BAIL IS STILL WORKING SMOOTHLY. IF YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO HAS A LINE SPOOLING MACHINE HAVE THEM SPOOL IT FOR YOU AND SEE HOW THAT WORKS. I'VE BEEN THROUGH THE 'OL LINE TWIST THING AND I KNOW HOW FRUSTRATING IT CAN BE. I HOPE THIS HELPS. |

| It's not the spooling. I spool it right and then troll any last twists out of it afterwards. I use small baits on this reel 1/8-1/4 and don't use a swivel, not that they really work very well anyway... |

| Have you tried any other lines on this reel. Maybe the line?
I get line twist from big fish taking out drag(carp and cats).
Good luck,

| Had the same problem with my spirex reels. Get rid of the flouro and put on power pro braid with a couple feet of that flouro. |

| This is my ultralight reel so unless I go to the smallest possible braid I don't know if it'll work. |

| You can get a 5 lb braid with 1 lb diameter, 8 with 1, 10 with 2, 15 with 4. |

Location: St. Catherines Ontario Canada | i agree about switching to the braid, did it myself and it made a world of difference, i find the p-line fluro is the worst, give it a whirl you may be surprised!
