| I was out on Saturday evening after the wind died down on a west shore reef. Caught 5 walleye and 1 bullhead. Those were the only bites we had. A few swallowed the hook, so they were somewhat aggressive I guess. Hook and crawler or jig and leech under a bobber caught them all. All chunky fish. Biggest one had 6 fish in its stomach, looked like small perch. Maybe minnows would work? |

| Trolled Winneconne and Poygan on Saturday and Sunday. No eye's at all. A few White Bass on Saturday and much to my surprise, totally blanked on a much warmer Sunday. Pretty windy by mid morning both days. Tried two to three feet in Clark's bay and ran the buoy line. Tried 5' out from the mouth on Poygan along with down the middle and the 4' break. Ran to the far west end also with no luck. |

| What's going on with Poygan and Winneconne? They were both rocking this time last year. I figured the late spring had everything a week or two behind, but the Orioles showed up last Saturday, which is about a week early for us! And my Bluebirds have disappeared! Seems they forgot about the meal worm tray on the patio table, and have ignored it the past three weeks. Bummer if they don't come back and nest this year. They are fun to watch.
Were the walleyes able to get in the marshes to spawn, or were they iced out, and forced farther up towards Shawano? Still in the river in great quantities? Bypassed Poygan, Winne, and Butte for Bago? |

Location: Oshkosh, WI | Fished Stony Beach and Roe's Pt. for a couple of hours on Sunday afternoon and did not get any. Saw 3-4 caught by others. Despite all the rain and wind, the water seems really clear and it was a sunny day. I fished from 5'-11'. For those catching on humps and points does there seem to be a depth that is better? Are they deeper? |

| The reef I fished Saturday, I fished in 9ft, which was toward the top of the reef. |

Location: Colgate, WI | I have fished Poygan the last two weekends. I have seen the water temps go from 59.9 to 50.1 Saturday. The water is so dirty too. I have not caught a walleye in that area at all so far this year. What's wierd is that we haven't seen any fish in the area, white bass, sheps, nothing. I am going up this Saturday to try it again. Do you think they by passed Poygan this year and ran to Clarks and then towards Bago? |

| I checked my log book from last year. Water temps last year at this time were 10+ degrees warmer than right now. I'm sure that has a big part to do with it. No real warm temps coming in the near future either. The fish gotta be somewhere though. I think right now, it's just being in the right spot at the right time. |

| There are a few out there anyway...this was a 20" reef walleye from Sunday. Spent most of the day mapping, but we picked up a few when we did put some lines in.

| Dave,
Hold on to her as tight as she is holding on to that Walleye... they grow up so fast. Great picture!!
I'm headed out to Bago to toss Shadraps into the rocks on the West Shore tonight, I'll post if I catch anything.

In years past where we have had this much rain and current, the whole system is like a huge toilet bowl that has just been flushed. Not saying there are not any fish on the upper lakes but in my opinion, there are much less then normal. Bago is still a bit cooler but the fish are there. Once the temps warm, I predict this will be the best bite Bago has seen in a long time. That is saying a lot since last year was so good. Just my opinion but it is not like this is the first time it has happened. |

| I fished the west shore from the Neenah river south tonight for 4 hours...nada not a hit, 59 degree water temp, perfect conditions in both the Menahsa and Neenah river to troll and still nothing. I looked at my notes from last year and this week 1 year ago was pretty good. Oh well, I'll be back up at Oconto next week for 5 days...

| She actually likes uncle Rich. I was out last night, trolling west end of Poygan. Couldn't keep 3 lines in the water. 11", 17", two 18", and 22" walleyes, a 32" northern, 6-3/4 lb sheephead (a little closer in looks to uncle Rich), 3 catfish and about 15 whitebass. Crazy busy. Several times I had zero lines in the water, just couldn't keep up.

| Tried trolling cranks yesterday while I was breaking in the new rig. Never had a hit. We got on the water around 10:00AM and a couple boats were leaving , one had a limit and the other almost. Looked like they were using slip bobbers and live bait.
I tried from 16' all the way into 3-4', on top of some of the reefs, on the side , just off, and way off all with the same result. Bad. I thnk even with the clouds and good chop it was still a time of day deal, where they might have been easier to catch at lower light. But that's only an opinion, not fact.
I used to fish it heavy 20 years ago and compared to back then, I was amazed with the amount of weeds we were contacting in mid depths water. Never used to be like that. Probably means my yesteryear tactics are obsolete. More learning to do I think. |

| The guy in the Emergency room last night told me he has been killing them slip bobbering the reefs on the West shore. Unfortunately he had to get more than a dozen stiches on the top of his finger as he pinched it off between the boat and the anchor rope. I told his wife about the drop and stay and I'm pretty sure he's getting one for Fathers day!
Good Luck

| Fished on a west shore reef last night. Caught 5 eyes, 1 crappie, 8 goats. Only had crawlers as the gas station didn't have any leeches left. Maybe could have done better. Lake flies were sure thick when the wind died down, and covered the boat after the ride in. |

Location: Menasha, WI | The best spot to be right now for big fish is the Bay of Green Bay. The people going there are really slamming some big fish. I had a very good report that my Scootchie Rigs were doing real weell for bigger fish. The reason was is because they wanted a bigger profile, and when using harneesees they were getting smaller fish, but when they switched to bigger profiles, such as the Scootchie Rig, the big girls came out to play.
The outer bar is doing well for crappies on slip bobbers and small minnows. The fish seem to be there most of the day and are pretty good size overall. Nice to see some decent panfish on the reefs.
Stevens Reef is giving up a few walleyes in 6-8 feet of water. We have been using small jigs tipped with either crawlers or leeches and right now it does not seem to make much of a difference. The fish we cleaned the other day had minnows and lake flies in their stomachs....FYI.
Mansure reef is slow and so is Haystack Reef. I have not seen many boats on either of these spots , so we stopped and tried them and nothing was happening.
One thing I am truly shocked at right now is the lack of Sheepshead we have been catching. We are not getting too many, and wondering if this is tue for all of you as well. I am not complaining at all, just think this is kind of odd.
Trolling along the North Shore is low. We have had little to no luck while trying to run in close to shore and also in 16 feet of water. We have tried harnesses and cranks and nothing seems to be working yet. Last year at this time we were catching fish in the mud already. I guess the cool nights and cold water temps are really turning the fish off overall.
The east shore seems to still remain the current hotspot close to dusk. I have had several reports of people doing well off of there docks with slip bobbers and leeches after dark and also while casting little cleos. The fish do not appear to be there during the day, but are moving in to the shallow water close to dusk.
Winnebago Point is very hit and miss, it all depends on the wind direction.
Crappies and Bluegills are still showing up in a few channels and marinas, but it is slowing down daily. Most are using slip bobbers tipped with either small minnows or red worms for the best of luck.
The mouth of the Fox River is doing so-so for fish. A few people have had some luck on the humps just north of the mouth and a few are still getting some whitebass in the river itself. I have not been here to try it, this was a report I received. I would think that Gehrkes Reef should be hot in the next few weeks along with Paukotuk. I am planning on heading down that way in the next few weeks and hit a few of my spots down there.
Long Point is real slow for fish, although I did get a report of some bigger fish taken there and also one report of a small musky getting caugh there. I thought that was kind of cool to see. I will again be down there in the next few weeks to try this reef. This is one of my favorite places to fish and I need to get down there soon.
Point Comfort is producing a few fish, but the quality seems to be not so good. Slip bobbers and leeches or crawlers is what most are reporting to me.
The various humps and reef from Garlic Island to Menasha are real slow overall for fish. Again we need some warm weather for them to really turn on, and I think in a few weeks we should be doing well. |

| Was out Sunday with my daughter, Lauren, on Poygan. Met Mark Keenan and his kids at the launch. I headed for the Horshoe area, and he went towards Indian Point. We trolled for about an hour towards the west before we took a walleye. A couple big sheeps, and a wiper followed. We took a couple more for the livewell, and the wind switched a little more to the south, and we picked up. Trolled south to north, and set a couple #5 Shad Raps down deep. Took two 16-17" fish. Repeated that run, and got two more. Same size, exact same lure. Repeated another pass, put 4 of the 6 down on the bottom, and took 4 more. One more pass, and we filled our limits, and headed home. Fish fry Sunday night with the best tasting walleyes anywhere. Yummy. Thanks for taking me, Lauren! |

I was on Bago Sunday morning, strong S wind made fishing the north end tough. Drifted several reefs, caught lots of sheeps and a few whities, then got chased off the water by lightning at 8:45. |

| We spent the weekend fishing the rocks on Bago with slips and pitching jigs. Got our 10 eaters every day, but really had to work for them. Tried a bunch of different spots- shallow, deep, the edge of the reef etc. Really couldn't find a consistent pattern or spot.
Crawlers outproduced leeches. temp was 61 degrees on Monday. |

Location: in the boat off the east shore somewhere | east shore junk , fished all the top secret spots about 10 , took darn neer all day to pull 8 or 9 walleyes with 3 guys in the boat.. largest might have been 17 inches .. 60 degree water temp too clear.. not too tuff on the west shore but small fish also.. trolling bit seems tuff.. some action over the weed beds ... poygan and butt de morts seem to be the ticket . on buddy made the drive and only got to fish for an hour , didnt even get to run 6 boards , didnt have time. and nice fish.. been like that for a wile now i understand.. |

Location: in the boat off the east shore somewhere | stacker the info on poygan came from late last week before the temp dropped for a couple days , need 2-3 days of stable weather and they will go again.. it was getting better again this morning im guessing but more storms forcasted. the east shore and west shore report was threw the weekend and up to yesterday been about the same.. even the tornaments on the weekend were 5 fish 8-11 lbs....... to win... one thing is for sure , somone always has something going.. but to me it looks like the big fish bite is still in the river for a couple few weeks yet until the water temps come up.. but hey , its all just speculation isnt it. |

Location: Menasha, WI | The lake laid down nicely for some evening fishing and the dusk shallow water bite is still going on the NW shore. Three cookie cutter 17"ers in less than 30 minutes tonight -- #5 Perch Countdown Raps.
I thought today's big blow would muddy things up but the water was prettty clear. Vicious bug hatch though -- little white buggers swarming all over, that's why I only fished for 30 minutes.
