Location: Stevens Point, WI | Day 2 of the FLW on Cass Lake dawned vastly improved over yesterday's nasty conditions. Clearing skies and improved wind conditions look much more promising for those looking to rig and jig their catch today. Yesterday's high winds made it difficult for most to follow contours; today should be totally different.
Cass lake Weather reports are calling for partly cloudy to sunny with winds switching from west- to west/southwest at 10-20mph; conditions look great for Day 2. A chance of afternoon isolated shower comes due around weigh-in time.

Location: DeForest, WI | My guess is that they removed it so they didn't act as a sail.
Cass is a spot on the spot lake.
They need all they can to stay in one place.
Those windshields are huge...

Location: Menasha, WI | There's a low brdige between Cass Lake and Pike Bay. With high water, it's necessary to take your windshields off to get under the bridge o fish Pike Bay. |

| Real men simply do not have windshields on their boat. They are for the weak and timid.

| hehehe
I fished muskies around that bridge in 2002! Threw a prototype Weagle there. First one outside of MN to ever use one. It had the hooks dulled, so they could slide through the hard part of the mouth on the hook set! hehehe Then he took it back from me, and I've never had one again. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | Clear skies and sun set the stage for Day 2 at Cass Lake, but the improved weather conditions didn't help everyone. Pete Harsh was one angler who did stay consistent on a body of water where his strengths as a rigger shined. His catch of 14.69 lbs and a miracle grab by his co-angler on a net job that sealed a solid fourth slot fish that measured 19-plus inches put him atop the leader board with 31.06 lbs.
Prilosec Pro David Kolb also stayed consistent, netting 15.88lbs, one and a half pounds more than yesterday's 14.06lbs.
Day 1 leader Tony Renner struggled a bit today with 10.31lbs. He felt the high skies played a part in why his fish just weren't going.
Brian Bjorkman made the jump of the day with 18.69lbs, the largest basket of the tournament so far. Bjorkman is sitting in twelfth place with a two-day weight of 24.56lbs, just over a pound short of the ever improving Chris Gilman. Gilman, one of the hottest sticks as of late made another push to secure a top-ten spot for Saturday's shootout with 12.69 lbs and a two-day weight of 24.75 to hold down that tenth and final spot.
October will once again reappear according to tomorrows forecasts; calling for 50% chance of precipitation and winds 20+mph out of the west-southwest. Temps at take-off should be 45 degrees and a high of 56 degrees by weigh-in.
