| Gander Mountain 6 1/2 foot IM6, cost $29.00, for the reel, try a few different Shimno till you find one you like, you might have to spend a bit more, but still under $50.00. Spool it up with 10/4 Smoke fireline and you'll have a jig combo that works well on the Wolf and the reefs on bago as well as good for long lineing the reefs.

Location: Orland Park, IL | Yep, PS offers a great combo. One of the many I use is a Gary Roach Jigging Rod. 6 1/2 foot. Also available at gander mountain. About $40. The guide series reels from gander are pretty good too. Stick to the one piece though. I am not a big fan of the 2 piecer. |

| I would not use anything other then Fenwick. I have tried them all and they are by far my favorite. Everyone has their preference but I like Fenwick the best. |

Location: LaCrosse, WI | I have a couple Fenwicks and like them a lot. I have a 6' HMG I think. It was kind of spendy, but it's been a pretty awesome rod. I do however have a Gander Tournament series (it was about $90 new) that I like a lot too.
The only reason I went to the higher end Gander stuff was because of tournament fishing. I haven't had too many rods break, but it's awful nice to be able to walk into Gander and get a new rod on the spot. I sent in a Fenwick that broke on a sturgeon once and it took about two months to get back. I can't be without the rod for that amount of time.
As for quality, the Fenwicks are great, and the Gander rods are good too depending on which one you buy. I also have a 7' Gary Roach rod (it's labeled a bottom bouncer rod, but it's got a very soft tip) that I've caught a bunch of fish on. It's all a matter of preference. The best thing to do is pick an amount that you want to spend, go to a few stores and pick them up. I rely more on feel than anything else.
I like my rods to just feel balanced right. I don't care what it says on it, if it doesn't feel right, I'm not buying it. |

Location: Darboy USA | I just bought 4 Fenwick HMX 6'6" ML rods for jigging and slip bobber fishing this year and love them! Very fast tip and super sensitive, was using them to coax bluegills out of deep weeds up north a couple weeks ago and couldn't believe how easy it was to feel the gills grab the worm. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for some new jiggin sticks. $80 regular price, but lots of sales going on right now on summer fishing gear.

I'm about to sell a few of my jigging sticks, if ou are interested. They normally run about $300 each but they will go for about half that. |
