Location: Rhinelander | The bite was tough today for most of the field, as winds dropped, skies cleared, and temps rose on the Bays. There were quite a few two and three fish baskets, and many of the top 30 weights were two 'overs'. The 'under' slot fish were tough to find for most of the field.
Chad Schilling leads with a 5 fish 22.25 pound limit, Nick Heelein is second with 4 fish for 20.69, and Tom Keenan is holding third with a 5 fish 20.50 pound limit.
Here's the rest of the top ten:
4 PAT BYLE
5 MARK COURTS
6 TOM ZOLLAR
7 JOSHUA VANDERWEIDE
8 JESSSE BUECHEL
9 GLENN CHENIER
10 PETE HARSH
The weather looks good tomorrow, if a bit calm for the Bays with temps in the 70's, clear skies, and winds switching out of the North early at 5 to 10 to Southwest at 5 to 10 in the afternoon. Many of the Pros are pulling spinners, and are a bit worried about the water clarity and light winds. The bite today surprised many, with quite a few of the largest fish coming in the late afternoon with literally minutes left to get in.
Ranger/Evinrude Pro Eric Olson needed a good tournament to make the Championship, and said onstage today he feels today's weight will get him there.
Watch for continuing Lund Boats coverage of the FLW Walleye Tour on Bays De Noc tomorrow morning!
