| If you have not seen the new 900 Series Reef Runner Ripstick you must check it out at www.xtackle.com This is an impressive bait that is almost 8" long (split ring to end of bill). It will be available in 19 awesome colors this year, and if I know Ed at Xtackle, next year there will be 25 colors. This bait was intended to be a Musky bait, but when I seen the first prototype, I had to troll one for walleyes. Ed got a few of these baits in for pictures, he will have them in stock by mid week. I was able to convince him to let me try a few of these baits this weekend on Mille Lacs. So I put the bait in the water, I thought that it would have a tough pull and chose a stiffer rod. Wrong, they pull easier than an 800 Series. I Was able to get this bait down to 18' with 150' of line out, and deeper with a snapweight. Yes they are in the Precision Trolling Pro Edition.
So how did the bait work. It caught fish, in fact it caught 50% of the fish last Saturday. I was running it side by side with two 800 series baits. Believe me even 22" fish are not afraid to go after this bait. I see it as being a fish catching magnet for fish of all sizes like all Reef Runners are. I can't wait till October full moon, I know what bait I will have on my rod. I think I have anew favorite bait, favorite color hasn't changed, but hte bait may have.
Also I think that Sportsmans in Appleton WI should have these this Friday. If I lived out there, I would have them Friday afternoon and would be pulling them on the Bay.

Location: Appleton, WI | Yup, The Sportsman in Appleton will indeed have them.
Sunshine, I agree, it is a bit pricey. But, in the grand scheme of things, it's peanuts compared to what you have tied up into your boat, truck, rods, electronics, etc. |

Location: Waukesha Wisconsin | I hear ya' Rob BUT People like me do not go into a store and buy 1 or 2 baits. I learned years ago that I need to buy 3 of anything. And as we all know, Reef Runner has the right colors. If I were to stock up I would need: 3 Purple Wild Things 3 Pink Squirrels 3 Bare Naked 3 Pearl Ghosts Bare Naked 3 Purple Barely Nakeds 3 Blueberry Muffins 3 Blue Orange Prisms 3 Eiredescents The way I see it, I'm saving $234 (with tax) by not getting involved

Sunshine.
I wish this would have been posted before I went and bought 8 Li'l Ernies for $13.00 each plus shipping. I might actually be using them again during the spring night bite, but haven't really used them again since that one trip with the two 4's and the 10 pounder we caught on them. It's Kinda like the box of "Heavy Shot" I bought for $3.00 per shell for geese. I only load one at a time as the third shot in my shotgun, but it's there if I need it. |
