Anyone ever ride in one of these boats? The tiller version is pretty rare. It has a awesome bow flare and looks like it would split waves really well, but also looks bow heavy. I am wondering if the performance on this boat with a 75 2 stroke Merc would be pathetic due to its large bow. Any input on this model would be appreciated

The rig will run really well with a 75 hp.

Thank you for the reply. Did they have wood in the transom that year? I noticed one of the splashwell drain holes has the exterrior rim missing on it. It makes me wonder if water has froze and expanded in the transom? This observation is from photo's only as this boat is 4+ hours away.

Those rims were a sleeve that fit inside the drain, not a one piece part if I remember correctly. Yes, the transom was glass encased wood back then. Still one of the best boat building materials ever used if sealed properly, strong, and tough as nails.
