Location: Stevens Point, WI | Fifty-four anglers took the waters of Saginaw Bay out of Au Gres, MI for the final FLW League event for the 2008 regular season Saturday morning. Mixed sun and cloud cover combined with strong winds and showers at times made for a bumpy day on the bay.
Local Jason Kaniszewski of Au Gres came to the scales with a winning weight of 19lbs. and 11ounces to claim a combined check for $$6170 with co-angler Keith Edien. All competitors were trolling crawler harnesses in varying depths from 20-50 feet of water.
Rounding out the top five are Dan Hassevooer of Hudsonville, Mich., who earned $1,890, and co-angler Robert Pozan of Orion, Mich., who earned $945 for their five fish weighing 18lbs. and 12ounces to claim second place. Jerry Fox Jr. of Algonac, Mich., who earned $1,920, and co-angler Daniel Darling of Bay City, Mich., who earned $810 weighed 17lbs. and 12ounces for third place.
Larry Booghier and co-angler Tim McClaran weighed five walleyes, weighing 16lbs. and 4ounces while Ryan Sagady and co-angler Eric Haroldson weighed five walleyes for 16lbs. and 3ounces.
