Location: Stevens Point, WI | Final day of the PWT Super Pro Can-Am has brought high skies and a wind shift from east to west. The pros WalleyeFirst interviewed felt the west wind would increase the big fish bite.
Team Canada still holds a strong lead with 419.58lbs. to Team USA's 398.92lbs., a difference of 20.66lbs. Team Canada currently holds down the top four spots but any faltering by the leaders could lead to the bottom six of the top ten moving Team USA into position for the win.
Leader Dan Dolinski of St. Albert, Alberta has led both days with two very impressive weights including two fish over 25 inches both days of competition compiling a total weight that is a first in walleye tournaments on Lake Wabigoon. Dolinski felt confident and said he was just going out fishing. He said he has been successful with the Whistler jig tipped with Berkley Gulp along with spinner rigs tipped with Gulp crawlers.
Alex Keszler currently in second place with 26.31 is fishing Wabigoon using Berkley Realistic, Berkley Gulp and rigging with Gulp crawlers. He said he is getting as many as seven fish per crawler, something one can't do with live crawlers.
