Subject: Lowrance 1600 global gps unit/sonar

I was just wondering if anyone had anything good or bad to say about this unit for my boat? I have a chance to buy one for around $150-175 without the gps antenna, which would need to be purchased seperatly at my expense. Is this a good deal and is a used one worth this much? Thanks for all replies!!

I would check to see if Lowrance is supporting that unit before I purchased it. It would be a bummer to have not work and find out that they could/would not fix it.

I have a 1600 global map and use it for years. Does not show contour lines and you have to down load from map create the enhanced regions. I could not get it to read below 1 mph. Does everything my X25 except color, and contour lines and the abiltiy to save on your chip. I is a real nice unit for the price however besure to get all the wires, software, CD's and plug in's.

better off with a h2o gps hand held. the 1600 is pretty old technology. as was said earlier- 150 for that with out a antenna is WAYYYYYY OVER PRICED!!! by at least 250 dollars, got it?
