Location: Rhinelander | Sure. great location, great people, super support from the community, and very good fishing. If it floods and is too crazy to fish reasonably some time in the future, they will do what they do. I'd hope discretion will win the day in that case. |

I fished the first MWC event in Spring Valley and have yet to be more impressed by community support than they offered right from the start. |

Location: Oshkosh, Wisconsin | I have not fished Spring Valley, but if the community supports this event half as much as those here have said then it is the perfect place for a tournament. Too many anglers think tournaments are all about the anglers - it takes a lot more than two hundred guys willing to risk some $$$ to make a successful event. |

Location: LaCrosse, WI | Another reason they hold events at Spring Valley is that they can typically hold events earlier in the year because of the open water. Try scheduling an event on an inland lake in March and see what happens. Late winters will cause those events to be cancelled due to ice.
Having this event opens up time slots for other weekends in the other divisions. This helps to give the directors for each event. Also the numbers don't lie. How many boats sign up for Spring Valley every year? |

| To me - Fishing the MWC Spring Valley event is like a family reunion. It's tradition. I have made so many great friends in the area - I couldn't name them all here due to lack of space.
Also - that area (Utica, SV, Peru, Peoria, etc.) has been hit hard by tornados, floods etc. in the last five years - It's a great community to give an economic boost to.
Viva la MWC Spring Valley event as the first tournament of the year!

Location: Berlin | Brad, everywhere you go there they welcome you with open arms. There are "Welcome MWC" signs all around the town. All the bait shops are super helpful and friendly. They have people at the ramps during pre-fishing to make sure everyone gets unloaded quick and the parking lot stays organized. The fishery is unreal. We had many days in the 15-20lb range with only saugers! Big difference between a 5lb walleye and a 5lb sauger. Like all rivers, there are a multitude of different ways of catching fish. Almost any technique can win that tournament. I have fished it for 8 years and other then '07 the bite was always on that time of year. The size was not always great but numbers are always good. Tournament time is a bit tougher as the boats pile on top of these fish but that is the beauty of it as they will still bite. Like I said earlier, it is my favorite tournament and hopefully it will continue. |

| Sure, why not. I think they hold it there for a number of reasons. One of which is tradition. I don't think they give a hoot about making it easier to schedule any other tournaments.
It can be a great bite. Love those hog saugers! Nothing like a 4+ lb'er nearly ripping the jig stick from your hand!! Way more savage than the same size eye! |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | I can't see why they wouldn't hold the first event of the year at Spring Valley. This event traditionally announces the brginning of the tournament season. If they chose to not fish here this location would surely be missed by many. |
