| Looking for a rifle for my daughter. She has her Hunter Safety completed, and wants to hunt deer this year. If you know of anything out there, please pass the info. Thanks. |

| I bought a new Ruger .243 bolt action youth model 3 yrs ago. Nice little gun. Light weight with a very low recoil. If memory serves right it was just under $400.00. Not the most accurate, but with a 3x9 leupold I can run 3 shots in a 3"x3" spot at 100 yrds. All my Brownings shoot better, but I've had some problems with a couple Browning bolts in the past. The Ruger's action isn't as smooth either, but not bad by anymeans.....and knock on wood I've had zero problems so far. I only wish it had a removable clip instead of self top feed, bottom spring eject. But, overall for the price it's great little deer rifle.

| Weatherby makes a model that comes with two stocks, youth and adult. Don't remember the exact pricing, but when I looked at them I thought they were reasonable and would allow my son to grow into it. Didn't get one, he'll have to shoot my old 700. |

Location: Green Bay, WI. | Hey Tim, I picked up a Remington 270, model 710 W/scope synthetic stock for $289.00 at WalMart. I think Fleet has them for $299. Shoots straight, no kick. Pat |

| Was hoping somone had a used one for sale.
But I got a month to look around. She's so much smaller than the bioy when he was 12! She could probably shoot a youth model forever! |

| Steve,
I saw those. Single shot. Just like I started hunting with, only mine was a .308. Looks like the way to go for her. |
