Location: Menasha, WI | Fished the Wolf in the Fremont area for the first time on Sunday. Since I'd never been there before I didn't have real high expectations. Started out fishing an area across from Fort Fremont in 10'-11' of water -- picked up a few white bass and then the wind kicked up so I headed upstream. I fished a number of spots that were a) deep, b) had some wood nearby, and most important c) was out the wind. Vertically jigged minnows and found a few whities in most spots but no eyes. By 11am I was pretty miserable as the wind really picked up so I packed it in. May give it another try next weekend, it was a nice change from Bago. |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | Viking, Keep after it as the walleyes will be coming in soon. I talked to some river buds and they are hit or miss right now. no one is getting much as for walleyes. I will let everyone know when I do.

| Yep, Hit or Miss. Was out last week two times around new london. Caught some fish in the deep holes with wood cover.
Also fished on Saturday afternoon and blanked in the same spots that produced earlier in the week. Need the water temps to go down for the fishing to pick up. |

Location: Menasha, WI | Thanks for the input. It's good to hear that it wasn't just my lack of river skills that contributed to my lack of success. Hopefully, now that I'm a bit more familiar with the area, I can be a little more productive next time out.
Is jig/minnow the best way to go in the fall? Should I try running three-way? Flies? Casting cranks? |

Location: Fremont, Wisconsin | The fall show very little current so 3-ways and flies are out, you cannot troll upstream with them. Jig minnow is probably the most used bait. plastic and some crawlers are also in the equation. |

| Fished yesterday below Fremont. Caught a few nice fish drifting/jigging. Small minnows or 2" gulp was the ticket. Heard that some big fish were caught earlier in the week at the river mouth. |

Location: Menasha, WI | Went out early from Kiesow's this morning. Fished between the mouth of the Rat and the mouth on Poygan. Lot's of whities, a nice crappie, a few sheeps, and a sturgeon but no eyes for us. Quite a bit of traffic but we only saw one eye caught. Talked to one guy that said he did well Thursday but couldn't find any today. Hopefully, the weather will hold out so I can get a few more weekends on the water before old man winter rolls in. |

Location: Menasha, WI | Hit the river out of Kiesow's again today. Absolutely gorgeous day even with the wind. There were more boats out today than there was on Sunday. Fishing could've been better but I finally got my first Wolf River walleye -- one fat 19"er drifting jig/minnow. Lots of short hits and I failed to get a good hook set on a few others. Didn't look like anyone was doing much better. |
