This is pretty basic, but what do you look for in a bottom bouncer rod?
Are there any specific rods that stick out in your mind, I would prefer not to spend over $150 per rod.
thanks in advance

I was pretty happy with the Mr. Walleye bottom bouncer rod I bought. I prefer a baitcaster with a flipping switch and a 7' rod. I tried a St Croix legend Elite, a Loomis and the Mr. Walleye Rod. For pulling 1-3oz bottom bouncers, I just couldn't feel enough difference to justify the extra money.

That being said, the Mr. Walleye rod was pretty sensitive and I was impressed. I think it's hard to beat a accurist on the lower end of baitcasters with flipping switches. To me, the extra length of a 7 footer is a major feature so I can get a little farther away from the boat and trolling motor. The bait caster also gives you the ability to use two rods and let out line with the flipping switch. This is very cumbersome to do with spinning reels.

For Me, "flipping" type bass rods fit the bill well. I hand hold two rods and reels with a flipping switch are a must. The waters I fish are quite snaggy, so I load the reels with 20 lb. Fireline and use exchange type bouncers. That way I might lose the harness or just the weight, but I'm back fishing faster. C-man
