A one pager on the Illinois River was in this months issue of the FLW outdoors magazine. Thought it was nicely done, though expected more angler input. Probably not as good as the Balla article in the insider a few years back.

Also, and I mean no disrespect, but quoting Roach on the illinois seemed to be a step back in time. He did win the inagural MWC event in 1987, but there have been a number (and still are) of good sticks out there.

Would have loved to hear from meravy, mannerino, kidd, dalzot, giachetto, balla, merkels, and a host of others. Heck the Plauntzes would have been good to hear from.

I agree Mark but I will always have my ears open when Roach is talking. As for the rest, you named some unreal river fisherman and I would love to hear from them as well.

Now my question for you is if you could actually go fishing with anyone (including these guys) who would you pick? I have fished with and around a lot of people both tournament and non-tournament. Needless to say there are a lot of guys I would love to spend a day in a boat with. If I had to narrow it to one it would be John Dalzot. That guy has MAD skills. He get's it. Watching him fish is like watching someone breathe. Plus from the little I have talked with him he seems to be a super guy.

P.S. I guess if it was open to ANYONE, it would be Jennifer Anniston but John is a close second:)
