Don't forget...

Just wondering if this is open to the upper lakes too, or just Winnebago?

Hope you don't mind if I jump your thread dave.

The Payne' Point Hook and Spear Club FISHEREE this year will be held on February 13, 14, & 15, 2009. That is opening weekend of sturgeon spearing. We will have live music Friday and Saturday night. Saturday there will be ice racing on the lake with the EXTREME OFFROADERS. Food, Refreshments, Table Raffles all weekend, and our Annual Cash Raffle. The Cash Raffle tickets are available at Paynes Point Bar, Vinland Still & Grill, Jackies Parkside in Winneconne, the clubhouse, or from any officer, or director. One of our raffles this year also will be a CANADA PACKAGE. One week for up to 10 people at the COME BY CHANCE LODGE in Nolalu, Onterio. This is an awesome prize and we hope that you all will attend the FISHEREE to enter for this drawing. The other big prize is a 42" Flat Screen TV.

I heard a 7 pounder was weighed in at Otter St. Unlike that waste of resource fisheree, the Payne's Point event is more low key and emphasizes fun rather than harvest.

(Footnote to head off the attack dogs, I was sarcastically mocking the anti-tourney contingent).

Well over 8 pounds according to the Northwestern. Second was 3 and change.

Anyone want GPS coordinates to a sturgeon spot? Those stupid things kept coming by and kicking up the lake bottom so I couldn't see on the camera. It would take 10 minutes before it settled enough to see again, and then a half hour later another one would go through and mess it all up again. Or it could have been the same one really trying my patience I suppose...
