| Time has come to replace all of them Any reccomendations>
Considering 29 series Have 24 volt system
Lead acid or gel?
Where or who has the Marine termials for the cranking battery where you can stack on all the extra electroncis etc? And still have the main starting connection to the main post.

| I have had good luck with the Cabela's size 24 AGM battery for a starter.
I went through the best Trojans on my trolling motor in less than 2 yrs. of light-medium usage (I keep maintained on a regular basis)
I am now using the WalMart brand, yellow, size 27 Marine batteries and they have done very well for the last two years and they are about the least expensive.
I was going to go all AGM, but they are pretty pricey and I thought I'd try the Walmart ones first and they have worked out ( who would have known!?) |

| Shep looking at remy's website it looks like they are a distribitor for many batteries but maker of none.What i missing here? |

| No, they don't make them. But they have a line of Johnson Batteries they carry, and put their label on. Johnson Batteries make a lot of the brand name batteries. The Remy's are every bit as good as the Brand Name batteries, and cost me less. I think I paid $74 ea. for my Group 30's two years ago. My last boat, a 2002, got 5 years out of those batteries. |

| Same batteries as the Remy's. Johnson Controls makes them. I think I pay less at Remy, though. |

Location: Orland Park, IL | Thanks indeed shep. Thats sounds like the Duralast brand at auto zone. What amp for the cold cranking and what amp for the trolling motor batteries. Just curious as I know each engine has a minimum volt/amp requirement to start. |

| Actually, I have a 27 Trojan Cranking in my Tuffy for the 200 Opti. Opti's are 1000 MCA minimum.
Ritch and Big O, I will be in Milwaukee for the weekend. I could pick up some batteries for you tomorrow and bring them up Sunday.

| I've always used Delco's... get the marine batteries at a car place... sealed and never had a problem... good warranty... good for me as the place is just a few miles away... may get Optima for the new tuffy though... |

| Delco Batteries are also made by Johnson Controls, so you've been getting good ones too.
Optima's are also made by Johnson Controls. Different technology over the lead acid. Said to last longer. I don't have any personal experience with them. More expensive, for sure.

Replacing batteries
