Location: Berlin | Hey all, I am dying just like the rest of you I am sure for some open water. We have some warm temps on the way and was wondering if you think Depere might be open for Sunday? I have not been up there recently. Shoot me an email if possible and let me know.

Location: Menasha, WI | Four gates open at the Menasha dam today. That should get the current rolling. Hopefully, things will be just about right the week of March23-27. |

| Don't plan on this weekend, with a little luck (rain, not snow over the weekend) and some work at the rivermouth landing maybe by Mon. or Tues. A good week before you can get out of Fox Point yet, unless someone has a front end loader. |

Location: Menasha, WI | If you're really desperate, the Menasha channel above the dame is wide open However, I'm from MN and I only live a few hundred feet from the river -- I'm not sure how that measures on your creepiness meter. I may actually dump the boat in there on Sunday to make she she's running well so I'm prepapred for the DePere run. If I do, I'll have to play with my long sticks a little.

Darn trollers can't even turn the kicker off when they are sitting in the garage. |

| Nope, the chips aint the same unless they're kinda moist and chewy from the gnats and lake flies. Seeeeee, there's much more to it than meets the jiggers untrained eye!! |

Norris made me say that. |

| With the weather forecast MAYBE next weekend but don't count on it. You can get out in a small boat if you are willing to push it out over the ice. |

Denny, truthfully I am a closet potato chip eater. Every year that door opens more and more. 250lbs is just a few seasons away |

Location: Darboy, wi | Went over the 172 bridge yesterday and saw three boats in the river fishing, but there was a lot of ice in the river yet. I just checked the weather radar and it looks like the Wisconsin, Illinois border is going to get pounded with rain again today. I hope it don't bring the river level up to high at Spring valley. |

Location: Orland Park, IL | I hear sheps got the breakfast thing going with Gofron next weekend. See, now you got something to do. The St Joe River in Michigan was just flowing yesterday. We were out for 8 hours or so, rained half the time. A couple of walleyes and lost 2 steelhead. The pipe flowing into the river was at full force. This pipe is 8 foot diameter and man it was just dumpin water. |

Location: Freedom, WI | Well boys let the games begin. There were 3 boats out yesterday afternoon and around 20 guys casting off of the Penninsula by the dam. I gave her a shot from shore for an hour with no luck, but did see two small males caught in that time. The boats were fishing the channel edges near Fox Point Launch. Boats launched at Metro and made the run up dodging icebergs the whole way. At Fox Point there was still aorund 15 yards of ice that appeared to be fairly thick. With this rain and wind in the forecast I would imagine that it will probably get pushed out. There will be a zoo on the river this weekend! |
|
|
|
| looking forward to fishing in the zoo this weekend............ill prolly be the only one trolling, so wave at me, and please dont run my boards over again this year |

Location: Colgate, WI | Docks are in at both launches by De Pere. We did great Monday but not so great today. I couldn't believe the number of boats out there today it was nuts. That wind was 25-30 out of SW and with all the anchored up guys it was tough to drift.

| I couldn't believe the number of boats today either! I stayed away from the crowd most of day. Caught 5 nice ones by the 172 bridge and then made my way closer to the dam and picked up some more. I did catch one FAT 24incher. That fish had to be at least 5lbs. With the dirty water, yellow and green worked best for me. It was nice to get out for the first. |
