Subject: Drift socks on a 150 yamaha

Hi guys I have a Ranger 1860 Angler with a yamaha 150 and Jim Carrol mention to me to try to put two drift socks in front of the boat to slow it down enough to be able to pull cranks and troll with the 150 I was wondering if anybody else tried this and how it works.
Thanks

Yeah, it works. I run the two bag system and it acts similar to a post that your boat pivots on. Your boat should turn very vell in the wind, and it will help your trolling speed. Its a cheap alternative to a kicker motor.

What kind of speed do you get with that boat top end, and how is the performance?
