Hi guys I was just wondering if the HDS 10 was worth the money to get it over the 112c in the sonar catagory not for GPS. Does the HDS sonar out do the 112c enought to get your money's worth?
Thanks

I'M NO EXPERT BUT I TALKED TO A SALESMAN LASTWEEK AND TALKED TO HIM ABOUT THE NEW HDS 5 AND HDS 10. I WANTED AND ENDED UP GOING WITH THE GLOBALMAP 7300C HD. HE BASSICALLY TALKED ME INTO THE 7300 OVER THE NEW HDS. THE NEW HDS'S ARE VERY NICE AND SHOW FINE DETAIL BUT HE WAS JUST A LITTLE LEARY OF THE NEW HDS'S. THE 7300 HD IS ALSO A VERY HIGHLY DEFINED UNIT WITH EVERYTHING I NEED. I WANTED TO GO WITH THE EXTERNAL ANTENNA VS THE INTERNAL BECAUSE OF MY WINDSHEILD AND TROUBLES WITH MY PREVIOUS UNIT LOOSING POSTION. HE SAID IT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO WAIT A YEAR OR TWO TO LET LOWRANCE WORK THE BUGS OUT IF THEIR WILL BE ANY SO I STAYED WITH THE OLD SCHOOL FOR NOW AND I'M HOPING IN THE NEXT YEAR OR TWO TO OWN A HDS. JMO.

I have to agree with B.Jay on the globalmap for your GPS but.... I have the HDS 5X sonar olny and I have to say I LOVE IT!!!! the broadband sonar is awsome, The adjustable frequcy is really handy, I use the 200khz for shallow basins and crank it up to 50khz for deeper lakes, downrigger ball tracking, ect...
