The forecast looks much better for today with winds at less than half the velocity we saw today, and plenty of time for the big lake to settle down as winds die off to under 8 MPH after midnight.

The skies are clear, and temperatures should hit the low 50's by weigh in time. It will get a bit bumpy out there by afternoon again with winds steady at 10 to 13MPH out of the North East.

Temps were cool this morning, actually cold enough for windshields, boats, gear, and the docks at the launch to frost heavily. Spirits were high for the entire field heading out for what appears to be a perfect day of competition after three days sitting on shore because of high winds.

Muddy water seems to be the biggest concern. General consensus is the reef bite will be on, producing 2 to 4 pound males for the most part, and the open water bite will depend on how much clear water can be located and how fast the mud clears in today's calm conditions. Lund Boat's ted Takasaki felt the open water bite would go, as did Toyota/Ranger Pro Pat Neu.

The weigh in begins at 2 PM Central Time.

Morning interviews and images will be up soon!
