Mercury Quickcleen and fuel stabizer

Is it wise to use the Mercury Fuel System Treatment and Stabilizer along with the Quickcleen product? Or just one or the other? The 1st year I owned it I didn't use it and late that same year I was having the carb torn off the 9.9 kicker because it was so gummed up(more like varnish) the motor kept stalling out and running very rough. Marine motors DO NOT like ethonal and finding gas today without ethonal is very hard if not imposable!! The dealer told me running quickclean will big time help fuel related issues and he was right I have never had any problems since.
