| Good evening,
I've been asked to request a pole on the best rain gear for around $400. Friend of mine bought the Cabela Guide Series which cost him $440 per my recommendation since that's what I have been using for the last 5 years. But, he said he was fishing this morning and after one of the diluges from the sky, he was damp and uncomfortable on the inside. Of course I told him that he was to expect some dampness when it's pouring out.
I'm happy with my guide series rain gear. Leaks by the crotch when it's really wet out, but understand it's not a frog suit.
So let me know your preferences. Frog Toggs are not to be considered.

| Game Hide has been good to me, and so has Cabelas Guide Wear, always kept me dry. |

Location: Stevens Point, WI | I didn't know there was anything other than Guidewear? I've used the Gander stuff with reasonable success but nothing as good as the Guidewear. I also have the Frogg Toggs for summer fishing and those have treated me very well. |

Location: Manitowoc, WI | If you want to make your rain gear last longer, it's best to treat it every year with WM Gore spray to ensure it's water repellent qualities. I have one set of Guidewear that lost it's ability to repel water and I treated it with this spray. It's now my backup set but it works as well as my new set. |

| I have both the guide wear and the bass pro 100. As for performance, they basically equal. I picked both up when they were on sale and did not pay close to the 400 for either set. |

| I have had 100 MPH since 2001. Same set, and it still keeps me dry. No leaks at all. Take care of your rain gear. Use the right detergent, and the renew spray, and it will perform for years to come.
ReviveX and Tectron are two that I have use to restor the repellancy of the outer garment. Do a search for Gore-tex DWR and you'll find several more, including Granger's product. I've heard that works well, too. Gander, Fleet, Cabela's, Scheels all carry a form of DWR renewal sprays. |

| I have been using GameHide for 3 seasons now. I use it nearly year round and it has outperformed the Guide Wear, has better modility and extremely resistant, lightweight and breaths better than anything I have ever owned. Very durable in the brush throughout the spring and fall seasons preparing the hunting grounds as well! I'll never go back!

I also had a pair of Guidewear bibs that leaked in the crotch. I took them with me to Cabela's in Richfield and they replaced them for me even though they were 8 yrs. old. No charge. |

| One thing to remember they recomend washing gore tex and treating like mentioned above to keep it working properly |

| Gore Tex has a policy that if anything you have leakes if you send it to them they will fix it or replace it. Bascially a lifetime warranty. My buddy had a pair of boots that were eight years old and started to leak. He found a pair he liked in the Gore Tex booth at one of the fishing shows here in Michigan and asked the girl if h could buy them. She siad they were just for desply but if he sent in his old boots they would fix them for free. He dicided on a new pair anyhow but she was addimit that she would have them fixed. |
