Location: Berlin | Rob and I will be fishing this one. The bite is ON right now. Tons of big fish in the system and the trolling bite is really starting to get good. I am expecting a large turnout for this one as well as some of the biggest weights of the year. See you then Ron! |

Location: Berlin | Thanks, we have a lot of fun fishing together. We could only muster a 3rd place this weekend and that was with over a 4lb average. Like I said before, BIG weights this year |

| I think I am going to have to fish it. Sounds like some good people and good fishing. What time is the meeting if your not registered yet?

Location: Berlin | That is correct, no late fee. Sign up at the rules meeting Friday night. This is open to the entire system. 5 fish 15" size limit. I predict with good weather it will take 23lbs to win this event. Every pattern this system has to offer is producing very large fish right now. You don't want to miss this one guys plus you have the chance to win two tournaments at one time! Prefishing expenses are the same but you can win double the money. The info learned form this event will be able to be used in the Merc Nationals as well. Lets fill this one up!! |

| I believe we're launching from Menominee Park. Not sure when the weigh-in is, but when you get your 23 pounds, you can come in early

| Nice job Rich and Rob. We did our best to give you a run for your money. We had two fish on that would have upgraded our 19"er, but just could get them in the boat. Despite the weather, lots of fish were still brought in. We had a fun day. Next weekend should be interesting.
1st = 21.??lbs
2nd = 20.43lbs
3rd = 16.??lbs
Then I think it dropped down to 12 or 13ish.
Those who didn't fish, missed out. this is a well run tournament. Great people that run it. The meal on friday was great. I haven't eaten like that in a while (something I have to talk to the wife about). |

Location: Berlin | Thanks guys, we had a blast. We had 2 fish over 27" which neither of us had ever done on this system in one day before. I will be getting the summary today from Chris Jones and will post it as soon as it arrives.
The weather was horrible and we were just hoping to get a limit. Rob's boat had more rods in it then I have ever taken in one day of fishing in my life. We anchored, pitched, trolled harnesses, pulled flies and vertical jigged to get this basket. We were only allowed 8 fish for this event (weigh the biggest 5). We got our 8th fish (27.5"er) at 1:00pm and headed back to the dock. To be honest, we paniced big time when we saw how strong the east wind was in the morning and ran around way to much. It was a total fluke it worked out but I am not complaining.
Special thanks to my partner Rob. He has put a LOT of time in on the water finding new spots and trying new techniques. Plus he puts up with me and deserves a lot of credit for that. So thanks a ton bud lets keep this keep this train rolling!
As for canes, yes we anchored in some canes first. This gave us time to get a new game plan together and let the sky brighten a bit so we could really see the water clarity. Yes we signed up for the Illinois Division as well as the side pot plus Rob is in Ranger Cup so we came out pretty well.
As for trolling and Winnebago, you got to do what you got to do to catch big fish. The reality is there are a TON of big fish in Winnebago and those fish are typically fatter then the upper lakes fish. Plan A for this event was the mud and deep rocks but that did not last long after seeing the wind and temps. Some guys in this event still brought in big weight out there which just goes to show how many big hungry fish are chasing the few shad we have right now.
Full Throttle once again ran a great show. I wish there would have been more guys sign up for the Illinois Division but the weather had everyone scared including us. We were held back to the end and saw all the fish come past us after being weighed. They took great care of those fish and the mortality was next to nothing from what I saw. Thanks to Ranger Boats (www.rangerboats.com) and the other sponsors for making this circuit possible. Keep up the great work guys, we anglers appreciate it. |

Sorry for the double post but between this computer and WF's server, I'm about ready to throw this puter through the window. I'm outta here!
