Location: Rhinelander | A small front moved through to the south this morning bringing in southwest winds and a promise of a good chop on Leech Lake for the day. The Pros all felt the bite will improve significantly from yesterday, especially for the under 18" slot fish.
Leader Tom Keenan is snap jigging shiners, a technique that's new to him. He said when the fish are on, one can 'fill the boat' on Leech using that presentation. He hopes to get on his big fish to maintain his lead, and take home his first win in the last 6 years.

Brain Brosdahl said his key is 'catching his limit first', and then searching out the big fish. It sounds like Leech Lake offers so many structural elements that the field has plenty of room to roam, so crowding isn't an issue even for Brian, who began his fishing career guiding Leech Lake and area waters.
The weigh in will begin at 3 PM this afternoon. Stay with WalleyeFIRST for video interviews, images, and much more throughout the day. WalleyeFIRST Tournament Coverage is brought to you by Lund Boats!

Location: Rhinelander | Frabill Pro Brian Brosdahl weighed 14.81 lbs (46.56 t) to Tom Keenan's 11.88 lbs (46.50 t) to lead by one ounce heading into tomorrow's top-ten finals. Keenan was missing one 'kicker' over 26". That was the opening Brian Brosdahl needed to take a one ounce lead. It's truly going to be a shootout tomorrow.
Any of the top 6 have a reasonable statistical shot at the win, depending on how close their 'unders' are to 18" and how far over 26" their overs are, if, of course, they bring two 'overs' to the stage.
The odds on favorites are Keenan and Brosdahl; Keenan because of his two day lead and consistency, and Brosdahl because Leech Lake was his Home guiding water, an advantage that has paid off well. Brian told WalleyeFIRST in an interview this morning he has big fish spots he has saved, and he's not seen anyone fishing them throughout the event.
The top ten are:
Brosdahl
Keenan
Gilman ( Toyota Trucks Walleye Angler Rewards Winner at this event!)
Stier
Larkins
Olson
Bjorkman
Kvelevog
Renner
Steil
