| I will be the first to admit i'm not much of a walleye fisherman(mostly bass & musky). I have had some success using drop shot ( cast out and very slow retrieve back) with plastics/gulp minnows for bass.....how do you think the method would work for walleyes? Specifically walleye fishing on Big St Germain?
Thanks in advance for your replies.

| I've done alot of drop shotting on a walleye lake and never caught any... these very same lakes I catch more walleyes dragging spider jigs and tubes... Do not know why... just another hook/weight combination... The only place I've had any success with walleyes drop shotting is the thousand islands... 30+ ft and lots of current if that helps... all on the same lure, Roboworm sculpin, great little perch looking bait...
drop shotting baits tend to be smaller and slimmer, maybe thats a factor, you can always throw a leech, nightcrawler or minnow on a drop shot rig... you get in a spot you think are some eyes, try it! then get back to us... | |
