Location: Stevens Point, WI | The AIM pros awoke to mother nature finally ushering in some excellent weather. All the pros had the same consensus this morning that with an improving forecast and a lot of predicted sun that the bite would really improve.
South Dakota pro Chad Schilling sits in first place after what he considered to be an 'ok' day one weight. Schilling mentioned during his day one wrap-up interview last evening and morning interview this morning that his weight was expected but also emphasized the chance of improving his weight to be more like weights he had seen during his practice period.
Tuffy pro Brett King currently holds the second place position after an excellent day one weight of 31.77lbs, less than a pound from first place. King said during his interview that he knows Schilling will get his fish so he felt in order to stay on top that he had to stay consistent with his fish.
Third place pro Dennis Gulau said he's very unfamiliar with the Bay, fishing it only once prior to the tournament. Gulau also mentioned that he's having to go off what others have told him in regards to increasing water temps and fish moving up in the water column.
