I do not have many facts to give, but I'm hearing of a hot big fish bite right now on the reefs off Door County in Green Bay. Places like Chambers, Horseshoe, Hat Island, and the Strawberry Islands would be my recommended starting points. Sorry I don't have any more information than that. I'm sure there are many tight lips out there with a tourney coming up. Hopefully we can get some details after next week. Good luck if you go!!

To add: I talked with a buddy who was up there Monday with his son. His son kept a personal best 31 1/2" 11 lb eye and they released 6 other fish that were between 24-29". The best bite was on the structures of Chambers Island. Color were mixed, as no particular color was better than any other. Congrats on the big fish Jason!!!

There are definitely big fish being caught, but you gotta get lucky to get them multiple days in a row. North fingers off Chambers are good, Monument area, south side of Strawberry is good as is Sister Shoals. You can use crawlers or cranks to get the fish in anywhere from 30-50 fow. Colors seem to change, but anything with blues and purples has been good. Some days golds and oranges are better. Also the fish seem to move up and down in the water column each day and one day you get them dragging bottom and the next they are 8 ft down. Good luck if you go, lots of 27" plus fish out there with a few over 30".

Mr D hit it square with my experiece there as well. Lots of marks and bait fish both days with one day producing and next day absolute zero with both cranks and worms.
Take care,

If anyone is looking for a bunch of 18-22 inch fish... e-mail me. Good bite for the last few weeks. An occasional one over 24, but most under 22.
