The NY Tuffy is winterized and shrink wrapped for the winter so the catalogs show up and thoughts turn to next year... power pole, rear trolling motor, and----
the 1760 GC osprey has An HDS-8 on the dash with a transom mount transducer. would maybe take the plunge for the new sidescan down imaging deal... my big question or maybe an overview of details about this... what I need to buy, installation, pics etc... would be great with a walleye /multi species boat in mind... I'm not looking to hook up or add another sonar so do I need the hub thing? from what I see it is about $600.00 pics of the tranducer would be great...
I'm looking for info here not links to other sites... I get about 15 minutes of computer a day... need down to earth info a simple guy can understand...
Doc... are you there... some time when I get a chance I'll be at your site... may check it today before football...

last but not least... if you have this new lowrance stuff... do you think it is worth it? can you see open water suspended fish how deep?

thanks for the time and comments...

The StructureScan box has everything you need to hook it up to the HDS. It has an Ethernet to connect to the HDS so you do not need a hub.
I have attached a picture on my transducer install and open water suspended fish. The bottom depth is 80.

thanks again Doc... I got the HDS-8 with the intention of having the best electronics going... I got the boat I really like, (tuffy 1760) It's rigged up the way I want it... problem is USPS has me going 6 days a week till the end of forever so when I do get out, I'm fishing, not staring at a screen... this HDS stuff is deep... features are overwelming... gonna be tough adding LSS... finding time to install it a problem too! my last day out, before thanksgiving, last hour... got in deep water 35+ screen really showed some fish! we just watched it, and caught walleye, perch and rock bass we saw! was an interesting end to the year! Of course this march I'll get a bunch of beer in me and order it...
damn beer...
I will be back here and your sight with many questions on settings and stuff...
